Drinking beside dignified blood pressure?
hey guys, I am 24 yrs old, 5'5 130 lbs. with HBP and since working out I am able to uphold a good BP level. Now, my BP was 155/100 previously and is immediately at a normal level being 120/90. So is it ok to drink a few beers next to the guys? I'm planning on getting tipsy but not shitfaced, you know? any suggestions?
No more than 2 alcoholic beverages per light of day is OK. That's 2 - 12oz. beers, 2 - 5 oz. glasses of wine or 2 - 1&1/2 oz. hard liquor.
120/90 is still borderline hypertension. It should be 120/80 or lower and that needs to be an average, not a one time width. Source(s): On meds for hypertension.
Goal BP is suppose to be below 120/80. Anything above 140/80 is when you should start worrying. A few drinks, no more than 2 to 3 drinks once in a while is fine. But if it's everyday, then you should really cut back.
The lone alcohol beverage that I know that may actually be good for you is red wine, but have with the sole purpose a glass or 2 at most.
This is just my opinion though.
If you drink too much alcohol, this will raise your blood pressure over time. Alcohol also contains a lot of calories which will make you gain shipment. This will also increase your blood pressure.
Why not visit your GP and arrange to have him assess your blood pressure and discuss any desirable lifestyle changes. Source(s): GP for more years than I thoroughness to remember
Do not consume more than 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks per day. Source(s): http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/…
